This is a plain and simple blog to share my adenocarcinoma of the sinuses cancer journey with my wonderful friends and loving family whose encouragement and prayers make all the difference.
Dearest Kelly -- All my well intended thoughts never seem to get on paper and into your hands. So here goes.
This morning as I was thinking about you I was also focused on God's wonderful hope. The Lord often reveals Himself to me through parables of gardening.
I remember going through a hard time and looking over my empty flower beds that winter. Sad, vacant, devoid of color, overgrown with moss and choked by weeds. I related personally to the lack of color and lack of productivity, and especially how cold and lonely that can feel. How easy it is to misinterpret. I should be blooming where I'm planted. Why did I miss my opportunity or is something getting in the way or holding me back?
Tiny spears of green leaves broke through the ground and revealed a small lavender crocus flower. The first signs of Spring make my heart swell with hope again.
Changing seasons bring the reality check. The winter desolation was actually a dormant season of rest. What I couldn't see going on under ground were the bulbs revitalizing and getting ready to flourish. Before long the garden was filled with colorful tulips, daffodils and fragrant hyacinth.
Please take this season to rest and allow God to deepen your trust in Him. The end result is beautiful. And know that the Lord who tends the soil takes great pleasure in His handiwork.
